As part of its active international designation, Puerto Valparaiso maintains numerous agreements of cooperation and integration with major ports around the world. One of the highlights, the signing of Brotherhood agreements which aim to develop joint strategies for promoting opportunities for bilateral trade between the ports that sign it.

The Brotherhood agreements also seek to stimulate technical, training and employment cooperation; to work united in areas related to global trade that benefit both ports, to share ideas, training and technical information, and to promote cultural exchanges in order to raise awareness and appreciation of history, traditions and culture of both nations.
